Cleophita Canton known as “Muddy” was born in February 1922 in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. She dropped out of school when she was in the 6th grade which was one of her greatest regrets. She made sure to instill a love of education in her kids so they could get the best education possible. She had 5 children, 3 girls and, 2 boys. Muddy was a woman who loved coffee and could drink it several times a day. She worked in the cafeteria at the local hospital until she retired as an assistant dietitian. She loved the Lord and was a Christian woman. One of her sayings was, “Give me my flowers while I am alive.”
